**** Seems a strange comeback song after so long away but it's nice enough and I think it could be a real grower.
***** Very good track that keeps getting better with more listens. Now their best since When It All Falls Apart. THESE are The Veronicas I have been waiting 8 long years for, finally! Last edited: 04.10.2014 03:56
#1 AU Last edited: 01.10.2014 17:18
****** Absolument magnifique. Impressionné.
***** A ballad for a comeback? How unexpected! I really like it.
* what a boring song. it's like a bad pink ballad.
****** Yeah wasn't too sure about releasing this ballad as the first single but I'm loving it.
*_*<br>
** This is boring.<br><br>But in saying that, it would be better than having Meghan Trainor or Taylor Swift at #1. Better yet, I would prefer neither of them at #1 though.
***** It's such a great ballad and it'll only grow from here. Love that it scored them a second number one!
**** I think back and man I feel old. <br>When I was 12 they released Hook Me Up, now here is the follow up, and I'm 19. Not blaming them, they had problems with record labels, and Lolita was steps in the wrong direction when Untouched made many steps in the right direction. <br><br>You Ruin Me is good but not great. It is a different style for them, and it is very downtempo for them, it isn't upbeat like their last several singles. But not in a bad way. Good to see it debut at #1 as it shows Australia hasn't forgotten them.
**** There are quite a number of songs out at the moment of this style that I prefer, but this is fairly pleasant. 3.5
**** Quite a nice return from The Veronicas. Far from their best though.
****** I must say that it's quite refreshing to have a DECENT Australian song, one that is NOT from X-Factor or the like at #1 on the charts. A DEBUT at #1 is an added bonus! This song is simply amazing, better than all the slaggy stuff they released in the past. The video needs work imo, but the song is phenomenal. 5.5*
***** Such an emotional song!
*** Ballad 101. Nothing special, but not terrible either.
*** 3 stars
*** Nice but it couldn't be any more ordinary.
**** nette ballade
**** Schön 2stimmig...
*** weniger
****** The lyrics are sharp and poignant. The Veronicas deserve this success.
***** It was good to see a piano based ballad return to #1 on the Aussie charts. While I don't feel this song to the full extent others may, it carries a nice sound and is not annoying in any way, but not outstanding either. The song seems to end suddenly but I can get more used to that over time. Definitely Top 5 material. 4.7*
**** An unexpected comeback track indeed, even with Sony's assistance I was expecting something more like their sound from the first two albums and I wasn't expecting it to amount to much chart-wise. But it managed to unexpectedly reach #1 due to a lot of physical sales and spend 3 weeks there. It's a rather nice and well sung song with plenty of emotion but it is a bit dull too, and being slow and a ballad has meant that I don't enjoy it as much as I once did.. Still enjoy it a fair bit though and I like that it was a #1 since their previous #1 is one I have never liked.
****** Venturing into the MOR pop market, this song sounds like Wham!'s "Last Christmas" and The Carpenters "Yesterday Once More".<br><br>Very emotional vocals from Lisa which cracks in the chorus, dirgey piano riffs and a beautiful string orchestra provide the backing track.<br><br>A great comeback single from The Veronicas which showed they were growing up with their fans, as well as making an effort to appeal to older generations too. Great track!
