***** This song is a mix of emotions, but it's mostly about sorrow. It's kind of weird just because of how vibrant the music is, but each measure ends in that appropriately sorrow-filled way. It's actually what caught me onto this track for no reason other than it being one of those occasional melodies that dig into my brain. Luckily that's not all that's on show because suffice to say, Chance absolutely steals the show. Providing a flip to Bronson's verses, he SAVAGELY retaliates in some of the most weirdly specific ways possible. But at the end of his verse we see a different light; he says 'I hope you happy' 3 times, and you can hear his intent slowly morph from bitterness into remorse.

I also just want to give a shout out to the idea of sticking Action Bronson, Chance The Rapper, Mark Ronson & Zane Lowe into a room and see what they come up with, it's the most amusing thing since the writer's credits on "Don't Cha". But this is wonderful. 5.2 |
